Student Startup Spotlight: Marble – Revolutionizing Mental Wellness with AI

Co-founded by Penn State students Mehul Aggarwal, Bobby Brinker, Harsh Maheshwari, Mihir Kulkarni, Aviral Bansal, Matthew Walter,  Marble is revolutionizing mental wellness with a platform that integrates artificial intelligence into personal growth and coaching.

Powered by the support of Penn State’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Program, Marble’s journey highlights how the program fosters innovation and equips students with the tools to succeed.

“The mentorship I received from Ted Graef provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship, which influenced the development of Marble’s vision. This guidance helped shape our platform—a blend of technology and human connection designed to create lasting change in wellness,” said Aggarwal.

What does Marble DO?

Marble offers a groundbreaking solution to the challenges of mental wellness and coaching through a dual platform approach:

  • Marble Journal: A mobile app where users can track their mood, sleep, and personal development through interactive journaling.
  • MarbleConnect: A web-based dashboard that provides coaches with actionable insights into their clients’ lives.

The combination enables users to reflect on their growth while allowing coaches to deliver personalized, data-driven guidance. Marble acts as a vertical AI agent, seamlessly connecting self-reflection with professional coaching to enhance both engagement and efficiency.

From Concept to Impact

Marble began as a journaling app designed to help therapy clients but soon evolved into a comprehensive mental wellness platform. Inspired by the stigma surrounding mental health support in countries like India, the team expanded their vision to encompass broader wellness needs. Customer feedback and rigorous market discovery refined Marble into the holistic solution it is today.

The ENTI minor provided the team with critical skills in customer discovery, business development, and market analysis, enabling them to transform their vision into a scalable business.

Through Penn State’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Marble team received mentorship from Ted Graef and others, networked with industry leaders, and participated in competitions like the INC U Challenge, where they earned 3rd place and vital funding to support their growth.

Marble at TechCrunch

Marble’s recent visit to TechCrunch was a game-changing moment. Representing Penn State at this premier startup event, the team showcased their platform to a global audience and gained invaluable insights into the coaching and wellness markets.

Highlights of the experience include:

  • Engaging with Industry Leaders: The team learned directly from luminaries like Vinod Khosla and the founder of Perplexity, gaining expert advice on scaling AI-driven platforms.
  • Networking with Founders Worldwide: Connecting with entrepreneurs from diverse industries inspired the team and expanded their perspective.
  • Building Venture Relationships: Discussions with venture capitalists provided clarity on Marble’s growth trajectory and the evolving wellness market.

These interactions reinforced Marble’s mission and prepared the team to tackle the challenges of scaling their platform.
